Proposed Guidelines for Public Comment

  1. The total time allotted to public comment during a Council meeting will be 30 minutes.  Each public comment is limited to 3 minutes
  1. Those wishing to speak should contact Mrs. Barbara Tyson by phone at _____________ or by email at Barbara.Tyson@drs.virginia.gov. Speakers should request special accommodations, if needed.
  1. Public comment can be provided in person, by phone or may be forwarded to a member of the Council to be read at the meeting.  Written copies may be helpful.
  1. The SRC does not respond directly to public comment at the meeting.  Council members may as questions for clarification purposes.
  1. The topics of public comment will be included in the written minutes of the meeting and become part of public record.
  1. Department of Rehabilitative Services staff are consultants to the State Rehabilitation Council.  Members of staff may contact the speaker to determine appropriate follow-up.
